To say that I love Harry Potter would be an understatement. I grew up reading the series and it will always hold a special place in my heart…the stories and the characters will stay with me, until the very end. *sobs* I love it so much.
Naturally, when Margaret (The Plant Philosophy) and I decided to meet and hang out this month, I immediately suggested a Harry Potter recipe collab, in the spirit of Halloween! We decided to put our own spin on a couple of potions from the books: Polyjuice (on Margaret’s blog) and Felix Felicis (below). It was too much fun!
If you’re behind in potions class, don’t worry, I’ll catch you up to speed. Felix Felicis, also known as liquid luck, is a golden concoction that enables the drinker to be successful in everything they pursue.
“Then, slowly but surely, an exhilarating sense of infinite opportunity stole through [Harry]; he felt as though he could have done anything, anything at all…” – Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Now, this Felix Felicis juice recipe won’t guarantee you magical luck, but it will certainly make you feel refreshed and ready to take on whatever challenges lie ahead in your day. The flavor starts off fresh with bright citrus notes, ending with an invigorating kick of ginger.
In the series, Felix Felicis is a difficult potion to brew, taking at least six months. Thankfully for us, this recipe takes almost no time at all to whip up. If you’re making it for a Halloween party, feel free to multiply the recipe to your needs.
