COOLHAUS featured customizeable vegan ice cream cookie sandwiches, with seven fillings (with flavors like blood orange cranberry and strawberry mojito) and two different cookies (carrot cake and chocolate truffle banana) to choose from. I wanted to try everything, but I decided on a pear vanilla sorbet between carrot cake cookies, drizzled with vegan cream cheese icing. Camille got a similar combination, but with lychee martini sorbet.
The only vegan treat I got to sample at the fair was the ice cream sandwich. The price was pretty outrageous – $6 for a SMALL one. But OMG did it knock my socks off! Where has this truck been all my life? I had the blood orange cranberry between carrot cake cookies.
Is this a non-vegan truck that changed its menu for the fair? Soooooooooooooooooo yummy!!!
So great to see you there, Char!
The price was pretty high 😦 But a really great treat!
And yes, as far as I know, it was a non-vegan truck that changed its menu for the fair! I hope they offer more vegan options on the regular in the future. I hadn’t heard about them until this event, but if they do offer more vegan things I definitely want to visit them again. 🙂
